Today’s thought is short. It comes from a quote by Brené Brown:

When I think of what I want more than anything in the world, it’s connection. I want to be seen, heard, and valued. I live for that sustaining strength that I get from relationships. When I look at my motivations for anything I do, they all come to or pass through wanting to feel connected.
“Fitting in” is a counterfeit to true connection and belonging. When I try to fit-in, I get caught in the trap of “never enough”. I want to say this loud and clear: Losing weight never made me happy. When I was trying to fit-in, no amount of lost weight was ever enough. When I looked for connection with people who accepted the real me, I was already enough and the weight loss was just a result of me wanting to take care of me. When I was valued and showed others that they were valuable too, I felt like I was worth being taken care of.
I hope you can find safe havens where you (the real you) are able to be seen, heard, and valued. You are worth it.
