Picture Day

The day has come. It’s picture day. I really need to update my professional photo. So, for Improvement Monday, I will be updating my profiles across all the socials. The one I have up is about 10 years old. It was taken after the concert I was in for my percussion class. I’m dressed up in my UVU Concert Choir gear, complete with a necklace that is askew.

I look so young!

It’s time for a more recent photo. When I was setting up my website, I looked for a passable recent photo. I don’t have that many photos of me. Most of the pictures I take are of my kids. When I look through my phone, almost all of the pictures of me are of me laying down making funny faces with my kids. I made a collage for you to enjoy. I was feeling a little self-conscious about it, but then my 6 year old son W said, “Mom, is that your dream board? … Mom, I really love you!” MELT MY HEART!

Dream Board

Emma Swan Johnston and kids collage: Photo 1 unicorn face masks with my daughter, Photo 2 in the hospital with newborn, Photo 3 two of my boys fell asleep on me, Photo 4 two more of my boys finally fall asleep, Photo 5 cheeky smile, Photo 6 me and a boy saying O, Photo 7 I'm not happy with this sleeping arrangement (baby asleep lying across my neck), Photo 8 sad baby with a fat lip, Photo 9 I'm trying to sleep but my toddler won't let me.
Yep, this is now my dream board.

Before and After Photos

What about before and after pictures? Well I guess I do have a picture of myself and my husband in November 2016, a year after his dad died. This was right at the time my husband had started Keto. I had been trying to lose weight with “exercize more, eat less“. The after picture is from April 2017 after eating Keto-ish for 5 months.

Photo Shoot

So now, it’s time to do a not-so-professional photo shoot (progress not perfetcion) with my sister Rosa Swan at the clicker.
