Still sick, but I seem to be on the mend. I could handle a very generous “huggy” from my two year old today.
I feel really out of it. I think that is because I haven’t been doing many of my “dailies” this week.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, “dailies” (the plural of daily) are essential tasks that keep a person on track for what that person is working toward. Some examples are prayer, gratitude practices, meditation, taking needed medication, showering, a jog in the morning, journaling, checking in with an accountability partner, and so on. (note: dailies can describe things a person every week or every month.)
The most helpful dailies for me are the ones that help me to feel connected – to others, to a “cause”, and to myself. They aren’t a to-do list per se: they are things that reenergize and refocus me.
They are things I notice overtime, for example: if I do laundry, I’m more likely to wear pants. If I wear pants, I’m more likely to do some house cleaning. If I start cleaning, I am more likely to wash dishes. If I wash dishes, I am more likely to cook. If I cook, I’m more likely to eat healthy. Therefore, a huge part of eating healthy for me – oddly enough – is making sure that I have clean clothes.
Dailies are like a switch on a track: small movement, big changes.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Hopefully next week I’ll be healed up and able to write for longer.
Until then, I hope you the best on your healing journey!
