You may have messed up. You may have let other people down. And yet, you are still enough. You may not have the body shape you want. And yet, you are still enough. You may feel like you are too broken, too much of a burden. And yet, you are still enough. You may feel like you will never be able to live up to your ‘potential’. All the requirements may feel impossible for someone like you. And yet, you are still enough.

You are loved. It may be hard to feel right now – and that makes sense, it’s a valid feeling – but there is love waiting patiently for you to open the door. And maybe, the shame is too hard to face right now. Maybe connection is too painful. That’s okay for a time. Just don’t wait too long. Make a commitment to reach up and reach out soon. You don’t have to be perfect. You are already loveable. You are loveable now.
As tempting as it is to disconnect from your emotions, the only way out is through. You need to feel, so you can deal, so you can heal. Feel, Deal, Heal. You are not a total failure, but you may feel like one. Validate the emotion. Don’t over-identify with the feeling. It’s not your identity – it’s not who you are. You will not feel like this forever. Other people have felt this too. You are not alone in this. All those people are worthy of compassion, and you are too. You are enough.
So maybe you need to try again. Maybe you need to try a new perspective. Maybe you need a new boundary. Maybe you are having a boundary conflict. Maybe you just need to work on baby steps of trusting yourself more. Maybe you need to talk to someone who has been through this too. Empathy from others goes a long way. All of these suggestions are things you can do, or skills you can learn. But who you are is someone who is enough.
You are already enough, exactly as you are.
And if you already knew that, share the love with others. Let them know that they are already enough too.
